It has been one week since the FRC Kickoff for the upcoming First Steamworks competition and our team has been working diligently. On Kickoff day, multiple ideas were being tossed around in order to come up with a game plan for the competition, until finally a plan was settled upon. Then, around Monday, the team got to work on creating prototypes while volunteers worked hard on recreating the field. As the first week starts to come to a close, Team 4639, the RoboSpartans have no plans to slow down. It’s only a matter of weeks until competitions start and the Seven Lakes High School Robotics team will be more than ready.
It was an exciting season last year, but, unfortunately, it's over now. A new school year has started, and you know what this means! :) It means training incoming members, giving them a feel for building, and fundraising.
Team 4639 is also planning on attending RoboRemix and Maker Faire. We also have a surprise during the Astros game on September 25th. ;) Hope you all have a great upcoming school year, and don't forget to keep your grades up! :)
Thanks to all sponsors. The team has grown tremendously this year.
Excellent job team.
Thanks for the hard work of all students. It was impressive to see everybody working together. The scouting team did an amazing job. Everybody was pretty active during the competition. The pit crew didn't have too much to do after the first day (that was good for us), but they were there when the team needs them. They inspected and made some minor repair between matches pretty fast. The drive team was focus on the strategy always looking ahead. The strategy team was watching and talking to all future alliances. We are looking forward the LoneStar FRC regional. You can watch most the qualification matches in the following link:

The RoboSpartans have been hard at work ever since the new game was revealed at FRC Kickoff! Here is the current status of our design:
Good job team! We did amazing :) Making it to eliminations is a great accomplishment. Bright offseason and future in store for us
Over the past week, we have assembled the entire frame and have started to install working components onto the practice robot.
We have been hard at work the past few days.
Basically, we have built the frame for the robot in metal. It is very lightweight and relatively sturdy (we used 1x1 aluminum tubing). |
